Destination Weather Guides

Month-by-month climate data, best-time-to-visit recommendations, and practical travel tips for 20 of the world's most-searched destinations — backed by 30-year NOAA climate normals.

Choosing when to travel is as important as choosing where. A destination that shines in one month can be unbearable in another — peak-season heat in Rome, monsoon washouts in Phuket, winter closures in Santorini, or Caribbean hurricane windows that turn dream trips into disruptions. Each guide below combines 30-year climate normals from NOAA GHCN and Copernicus ERA5 with editorial notes on what each month actually feels like on the ground: which festivals land when, how humidity interacts with temperature, what the rainy season really means for outdoor plans, and which shoulder-season windows quietly deliver the best value.

How These Guides Are Built

Every destination guide on WeatherLens follows the same structure: a 12-month climate table with temperature, rainfall, sunshine, humidity, and our travel comfort score; a written best-time-to-visit recommendation grounded in those numbers; month-by-month travel notes covering local festivals, tourist density, and practical quirks; packing advice keyed to the climate; and frequently asked questions reflecting what travelers actually search.

We source monthly averages from NOAA GHCN (Global Historical Climatology Network) station data and the ERA5 reanalysis from the Copernicus Climate Change Service, using the standard 1991–2020 climate normal period recommended by the World Meteorological Organization. Current temperatures shown on destination cards update every three hours via the OpenWeatherMap API.
